Lot 949: A Contemporary Striped Upholstered Three-Seater Sofa with Scatter Cushions
A Victorian style Davenport desk constructed from mahogany. The piece features a sloping writing surface inset with a green leather skiver, decorated with a gold-tooled foliate border. The primary lid is hinged at the top and opens to reveal a mahogany-lined interior storage well. A secondary small hinged lid at the rear opens to a stationery compartment designed for housing pens and writing materials. The right-hand side of the desk is fitted with four graduated drawers, each with circular brass-toned ring pull handles. The desk front is supported by two turned and carved pilasters which rest upon a shaped plinth base. The wood possesses a deep reddish-brown finish. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the piece.
