A traditional armchair of dark-stained hardwood construction. The piece features distinctive, heavily curved scroll arms with a deep fluted or ribbed decorative finish. The frame design includes turned spindle supports to the backrest and beneath the seat. The chair is currently upholstered in a cream-coloured textured fabric decorated with an embroidered repeating leaf motif. No maker’s marks are visible on the frame; however, a small white inventory label numbered 866 is present on the upper surface of one arm.
