A set of six antique Victorian sterling silver teaspoons in the classic Fiddle pattern. Each spoon terminal is engraved with a heraldic crest depicting a bird of prey, possibly a hawk or falcon, above a scrolling monogram. The reverse of the stems features a full set of London hallmarks. Maker’s Mark: AB over GB within a quatrefoil punch for Alice and George Burrows II. Standard Mark: Lion passant signifying .925 sterling silver. Assay Office Mark: Leopard’s head for London. Date Letter: Lowercase h within a shield punch corresponding to 1843. The spoons are presented in a fitted case with a blue velvet and ruched silk interior.
