Lot 117: A Trio of Vintage Silver-Coloured Baby Rattles and Teething Rings
This collection comprises three vintage baby rattles, each featuring a hollow-cast silver-coloured charm suspended from a circular teething ring. The first rattle is formed as a seated animal, possibly a dog or cat, with a slotted base and is attached to a yellowed cream-coloured ring. The second item depicts a standing teddy bear with textured fur detailing, hanging from a larger cream-coloured ring. The third piece is a smaller rattle in the shape of an acorn with a textured cap, suspended from a matching cream-coloured ring. The teething rings are fashioned from a hard, cream-coloured material such as bone or an early synthetic plastic. While small indentations suggesting hallmarks are visible on the silver-coloured components, particularly on the back of the bear and the base of the animal, they are worn and not clearly legible, precluding a definitive attribution to a specific maker or date.
Seated animal rattle total length: 10 cm
Teddy bear rattle total length: 11 cm
