Lot 122: A Vintage TALAAD Lacquered Photo Album Containing Queen Elizabeth 2 Maritime Ephemera and New York City Photographs including The Twin Towers
This lacquered photo album features a decorative front cover with a red and black psychedelic swirl pattern and a plain black reverse. The reverse displays a gold-tone logo consisting of a stylized triangular mountain above the text TALAAD. The album is constructed with two lacquered boards joined by two brass-tone metal hinges and a black cord binding. It contains a collection of original colour photographs and maritime ephemera relating to the Cunard liner Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2). The ephemera includes a printed table reservation card for the Caronia Restaurant on the Quarter Deck, assigned to the Doctor’s Table for Mrs Mottram, and a formal invitation from the Wardroom President and Officers for a cocktail reception held on Saturday 21st July 2001. The photograph collection depicts various scenes in New York City, including the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, and the World Trade Center Twin Towers. Several images bear orange digital date stamps from July 2001.
