Lot 127: A Set of Edwardian Silver Collared Butter Knives by John Yates and Sons Ltd Sheffield 1908
A set of butter or tea knives featuring hallmarked sterling silver ferrules and cream-coloured handles. The ferrules are decorated with ribbed banding. The handles are of an organic appearance, likely bone or ivorine. The polished metal blades are consistent with silver-plated steel. The set is housed in its original period presentation case with a black leatherette exterior, a tan velvet-fitted base, and a cream silk-lined lid.
