Buyer's Premium:

This lot consists of two antique functional objects. The first is a four-tine dessert fork made of silver-plated metal. The handle features a traditional shell and scroll design, commonly associated with patterns such as King’s or Albert. The neck of the fork is stamped with four distinct manufacturer’s marks: a capital letter S, an ampersand, a rectangle containing the letters Co, and a capital letter B. These marks are characteristic of silver-plated or electroplated nickel silver (EPNS) production from the late 19th or early 20th century, with the B likely indicating Birmingham as the city of manufacture.

The second item is an antique button hook, a tool used for fastening footwear and clothing. It is constructed with an ornate hollow sterling silver handle and a steel hook. The handle is decorated in a Rococo Revival style with deeply embossed foliate and C-scroll motifs. The silver handle bears a lion passant hallmark, identifying it as British sterling silver.

Dessert fork length: 18.5 cm
Button hook length: 17.5 cm.
