Lot 167: An Edwardian Sterling Silver Sugar Caster
An Edwardian sterling silver sugar caster of baluster form in the George II style. The pull-off cover features decorative hand-pierced scrollwork and is surmounted by a turned finial. The body is designed with a central moulded girdle and is raised on a stepped circular pedestal base. Stamped to the neck of the body with the maker’s mark S.B & S Ld for S. Blanckensee & Son Ltd, the Birmingham assay office anchor mark, the sterling lion passant, and the date letter M for 1911.
