A Victorian sterling silver two-piece christening set, comprising a spoon and a matching four-tine fork. Each handle terminates in a shaped, scroll-edged cartouche containing an engraved entwined script monogram, appearing to be RB. Both pieces are struck with a full set of London hallmarks, including the maker mark GA for George William Adams (trading as Chawner & Co), the lion passant for sterling silver purity, the leopard head for the London Assay Office, the lowercase date letter n for 1848, and the duty mark of Queen Victoria. The set is presented in its original fitted case with a blue velvet-lined base and a ruched white satin-lined lid.
