Lot 10: NATO Military 20-Litre Steel Jerry Can, Dated 2013
A contemporary military-style 20-litre fuel container, commonly referred to as a jerry can, constructed from pressed steel with an olive drab painted finish. This example follows the standard NATO design featuring three handles for ease of transport and a cam-lock lid mechanism with an integrated locking pin. The central handle is embossed with UN certification markings: 3A1/Y/100/13 /D/BAM6210-VP. This code identifies the vessel as a steel jerry can with a non-removable head, registered in Germany (D) and tested by the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM). The number 13 indicates a manufacture date of 2013. The exterior is fitted with several adhesive labels including a diamond-shaped Flammable Liquid 3 hazard sticker, a small white label reading PCH1968 PETROL CAN UN-LEADED, and a green shoulder sticker reading PETROL ONLY. The side of the container features handwritten text in black marker reading ZEAT and a lot sticker 010.
