Lot 181: Two Mid-20th Century Transit Chests Comprising a Wooden Tool Chest and a Metal Shipping Trunk with Cornwall Markings
A lot comprising two vintage storage chests of mid-20th-century origin. The first is a wooden transit or tool chest of rectangular form, constructed from timber with iron hardware. The exterior displays a heavily weathered, grey patina consistent with age and exposure. It is fitted with a hinged lid and iron swing-carry handles at each end. The second item is a long, low-profile metal transit trunk, constructed from sheet steel and typical of patterns utilised for British military or maritime equipment transport. The side features a painted white identification panel with black hand-lettered text reading L. WILLS, BELLE VUE / ST. COLUMB / CORNWALL, ENGLAND. This trunk is fitted with side carry handles and metal latches.
