Lot 220: Vintage Cast Iron Metalworking Lathe on Integrated Stand
A vintage floor-standing metalworking lathe constructed from cast iron with steel components. The machine features a flat-belt drive system incorporating a stepped cone pulley, characteristic of late 19th and early 20th-century engineering. The assembly includes a headstock, tailstock, and carriage with toolpost mounted on a horizontal bed, supported by a heavy cast iron stand with A-frame legs. A partial gear train is visible at the headstock end. The drive system retains an aged flat belt. The lathe is currently unmarked by a manufacturer and bears a modern white auction lot sticker numbered 220 on the headstock and belt.
