Lot 284: An early 20th-century metal steamer trunk with embossed faux-wood grain finish
An early 20th-century utilitarian storage trunk, also known as a travel or steamer trunk. The item is constructed from sheet metal with an embossed texture simulating a natural wood grain pattern. The construction features riveted metal banding for reinforcement and is fitted with iron drop handles to the sides. The trunk has a hinged, slightly domed lid. Several modern auction and inventory stickers are present on the exterior, including pink circular labels marked 32 and white adhesive labels marked BETT and 1138. No manufacturer marks or stamps are visible on the exterior of the chest.
