Lot 348: An Assortment of Souvenir Thimbles with Wooden Display Cases and Regency Fine Arts Figurines
This collection comprises a large group of collectable thimbles and various miniatures. The lot includes over 100 thimbles, primarily manufactured from fine bone china, silver-tone and brass-tone metal, and glass. Designs represent a variety of souvenir and decorative themes, including geographic locations such as the Isles of Scilly, Cyprus, South Africa, New York, and Stonehenge. Other examples feature National Trust branding, floral patterns, and zodiac signs including Capricorn. Three wooden wall-hanging display cases are provided for the collection, one of which features a red felt-lined backing. The miniature component of the lot includes a variety of figurines and soft-sculpture characters. Notable items include folk-art style figures with heads or bodies made from dried teasel heads to represent hedgehogs or mice, dressed in fabric clothing. One figurine bears a base label for Country Characters by Regency Fine Arts. Accessories within the lot include miniature wicker beds, baskets, and a resin figure situated in a small terracotta pot.
