Lot 40: An Assortment of Vintage and Modern Hand Tools, Soldering Equipment, and Woodworking Accessories
A varied collection of workshop tools and soldering equipment housed in two painted sheet metal storage boxes. The lot features a Spear and Jackson Spearior craftsman tenon saw with a 10-inch (250mm) blade and brass back, retaining its original red and yellow cardboard protective sleeve bearing the SJ crown logo. Woodworking tools include a vintage eggbeater-style hand drill with a red-painted gear wheel marked Made in England, a wooden marking gauge with brass hardware and thumb-screw adjustment, a metal-frame coping saw, and several wooden-handled chisels and gouges. Soldering equipment comprises a vintage pistol-grip soldering iron with a black handle and metal specification plate, a modern Parkside soldering iron in original packaging, and a vintage straight-handled soldering iron with a copper bit. Accompanying items include a boxed soldering iron by David Griffin Ltd, a tin of Fluxite soldering paste, a spool of solder wire, a tube of solder, and a wooden-handled bench brush. A circular Carpenters Supply Co Trade Pack tin containing zinc-plated screws is also included. The tools are constructed from steel, brass, and hardwoods such as beech, with handles made of turned wood and early plastic or Bakelite-style materials.
