Lot 477: Charles Owen Young Riders Skull Equestrian Riding Helmet Size 58
A Charles Owen Young Riders Skull equestrian safety helmet, size 2 1/2 (58), manufactured in Wrexham, Wales, United Kingdom. The helmet features a black textured exterior shell with two ventilation holes on the crown and an integrated black nylon webbing chin strap fitted with plastic adjustment buckles. The interior is lined with a black mesh fabric and contains a bright orange and yellow synthetic manufacturer label. The label features stylized bubble letters reading Charles & Owen alongside a cartoon pony illustration and the text Young Riders Skull. To the left is a circular royal warrant crest reading By Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen Protective Headwear Manufacturers Charles Owen & Co. (Bow) Ltd., Wrexham. A circular white paper sticker indicates the size as 2 1/2 over 58. Partially visible text along the lower edge references British and European safety standards PAS015 and BS EN 1384, as well as Made in Great Britain. This item is a civilian equestrian riding helmet and is not military issue, despite visual similarities to certain late Cold War era riot or training bump caps.
