Lot 500: A Collection of Domestic Metalware and Table Accessories
This lot comprises an assortment of domestic metalware and table accessories from various periods. Included is a pair of small copper chambersticks with circular finger grips and a taller brass chamberstick with a scrolling handle. A cylindrical silver-toned metal commemorative canister features a fitted lid with a ball finial and the incised inscription MILLENNIUM 2000. The collection features a large silver-plated crumb scoop with a broad blade and a turned dark wood handle, alongside a silver-plated crescent-shaped dish. A tapered silver-plated tankard contains several small items of flatware including spoons and a pair of sugar tongs. Accompanying these is a handwritten provenance tag which states: These sugar tongs were given to Anne Priscilla Peach and Ernest Radbourne by the jeweller where they purchased their wedding ring. 26.12.1901. Completing the lot are a cheese knife with a curved, bifurcated blade and white handle, and a small circular decorative coaster featuring a blue floral pattern.
