Lot 506: A Collection of Porcelain and Metal Souvenir and Commemorative Thimbles
A large collection of decorative thimbles presented in two blue plastic storage containers. The assembly primarily comprises porcelain or ceramic specimens featuring various topographical, commemorative, and floral motifs. Visible designs include British place names such as Cornwall, Plymouth, St Peter Port, and Fowey. One commemorative piece features Winston Churchill with the dates 1874-1965. Several porcelain thimbles bear the printed mark MADE IN ENGLAND. The lot also includes a selection of metal thimbles in silver and gold-coloured tones, including one example inscribed PETER, and a single translucent green specimen. A portion of the collection is housed in individual clear plastic protective cases.
