Lot 517: An Assortment of a Germanic-Style Lidded Beer Stein and Marigold Carnival Glass Tableware
An assortment of decorative items comprising a traditional lidded beer stein and several pieces of marigold iridescent carnival glass. The beer stein is of relief-moulded ceramic construction, featuring a continuous tavern or village scene with figures in traditional attire, set against a deep cobalt blue ground with naturalistic cream, brown, and green highlights. The vessel is fitted with a rustic branch-form handle and a hinged pewter lid with a decorative thumb-lift. The glass components are of press-moulded construction with a vibrant marigold lustre over a clear or pale amber base. Included in the assortment is a tall mug with a vertical ribbed or fluted pattern and multiple handled cups featuring intricate geometric motifs, including starburst and hobstar designs. No maker marks or factory stamps are visible on any of the items.
