Lot 689: An extensive collection of stoneware tea and dinner service items in the Greenwheat pattern attributed to Denby
This extensive collection of British stoneware tea and dinner service items is produced in the Greenwheat pattern, originally designed by Albert Colledge in the 1950s. The decoration consists of hand-painted, stylised wheat stalks in brown and green tones on a cream-coloured ground. Many items feature a contrasting deep forest green glaze to the lids, handles, and interiors. The set includes a large lidded vegetable tureen, a teapot, a coffee pot, a hot water jug, milk and cream jugs, and a cruet set featuring oil and vinegar bottles and salt and pepper shakers. The assortment also comprises a large quantity of dinner plates, side plates, saucers, teacups, coffee cups of various sizes, small handled bowls, egg cups, and rectangular serving trays. A prominent auction house sticker from HCP Auctions South West, Lot 689, is visible on the tureen.
