Lot 792: Air Ministry Oak Dressing Chest by Enham Industries, 1962
A mid-century British oak dressing chest manufactured by Enham Industries for the Air Ministry, dated 1962. The chest features an asymmetrical arrangement of four drawers, comprising two smaller drawers to the left and two wider drawers to the right. It is surmounted by a rectangular swing mirror held within a solid oak frame. The piece is constructed from oak and oak veneers, with secondary woods used for the drawer linings and back panel. The drawers are machine-dovetailed and retain their original turned wooden pull knobs. The chest is supported by integral side-panel feet. The reverse is clearly stamped with the marks 21B 1962, ENHAM 1962, and other inscriptions including A/C and FEB.
