Lot 914: A Single Early 20th Century Low-Seated Oak Armchair in Red Plush Upholstery
A single low-seated armchair dating from the early to mid-20th century, constructed with an oak frame featuring a medium brown finish. The chair design includes turned front supports and armrests which meet the back uprights at square block joints. The piece is upholstered in a textured red plush fabric. Visible on the upper surface of the right armrest are two adhesive paper stickers: one printed with 6 914 and a second handwritten with 9051 over RES ES. These represent contemporary auction house tracking markers. No permanent manufacturer marks, stamps, or labels are present on the exterior of the frame. The construction appears utilitarian, characteristic of fireside or nursing chairs from the late Victorian or Edwardian period.
