Lot 975: A Group of Twentieth Century Framed Artworks including works attributed to Alex Pocock and John Rudkin (Signed)
A collection of framed artworks featuring a variety of representational subjects, including rural landscapes and a still life. The collection includes works attributed to the British artists Alex Pocock and John Rudkin, consisting of watercolours or gouache on paper and printed reproductions. One work depicts a traditional English village scene with a stone bridge and picnicking figures near a vintage motor car, executed in a style consistent with John Rudkin. Another work is a still life of a white ceramic pitcher and a bowl of pears, bearing an indistinct signature lower right attributed to Alex Pocock. Mountainous landscapes in a blue tonal palette are also included, alongside further landscape studies. All works are presented in decorative gilt-effect frames of varying profiles with white or cream paper mounts. Visible signatures are present in the lower corners of several works but are not fully legible for transcription in the provided images.
