Lot 119: Teign Valley Glass House of Marbles Clear Controlled Bubble Art Glass Sphere
A large art glass sphere manufactured by Teign Valley Glass at the House of Marbles in Bovey Tracey, Devon, England. The piece is constructed from clear glass using the controlled bubble, or bullicante, technique, resulting in numerous air bubbles of various sizes suspended in a deliberate pattern throughout the body. The object is a solid sphere with a flattened and polished circular base. The underside of the base retains the original circular gold-toned paper label with black text. The label is inscribed House of Marbles and Teign Valley Glass around the edge, with Bovey Tracey, Devon, England across the centre.
