Charity auction of around one hundred lots of general items to raise money for local school play equipment
Lot 29: UK & CR 1965-1998 Commemorative Coin and Medal Collection, Cupro-Nickel
A collection of UK and international numismatic items, presented in a textured orange jeweler’s box with a Douglas Hughes Fine Jewellery, Truro, interior lid mark. The group comprises various UK cupro-nickel commemorative issues including a 1977 Silver Jubilee crown with an equestrian obverse, a 1998 Five Pounds coin commemorating the 50th birthday of the Prince of Wales, Winston Churchill commemorative crowns, and a 1967 Half Crown. The lot also includes a 1998 Costa Rica 2 Colones coin issued by the Banco Central de Costa Rica (B.C.C.R.). Accompanying the coins is a commemorative medal suspended from a red and black ribbon, featuring a 1998 UK coin obverse and a bronze-toned Lisbon Sail ’98 Vasco da Gama Memorial reverse. The items are struck in cupro-nickel and base metal alloys.
