This lot comprises a pair of identical official souvenir programmes produced to commemorate the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 2nd June 1953. The publications were issued by King George’s Jubilee Trust by gracious permission of the Queen and printed in England. The front covers feature a prominent multi-coloured rendition of the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom, set within a decorative blue and gold border. The original retail price of two shillings and sixpence (2/6) is printed to the lower right.

The internal title pages are elaborately decorated with a monochrome border of shields representing various Commonwealth countries and territories, including India, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Ceylon. The design also incorporates the Royal Cypher EIIR and lists various States Under Her Majesty’s Protection and Trust Territories. The text on the cover reads Published by Gracious Permission of Her Majesty the Queen and Approved Souvenir Programme. The title page is marked World Copyright Reserved.
