Lot 57: Marks and Spencer Harvest Pattern Stoneware Coffee Pot
A lidded stoneware coffee pot produced for Marks and Spencer, featuring the botanical Harvest pattern. The vessel is constructed from refined cream-coloured stoneware with a glazed finish, designed as oven-to-tableware. The form comprises a tall, cylindrical body that tapers toward the neck, fitted with a high-set loop handle and a curved spout. The matching domed lid is topped with a button finial. The exterior is decorated with a transfer-printed design depicting stalks of wheat, blackberries, rosehips, and wildflowers in shades of green, brown, purple, and yellow. A thin brown-painted line accents the rims of the lid and the base. The underside of the base features a circular brown backstamp with the text MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN and OVEN TO TABLEWARE surrounding the central words HARVEST 1418. There is a small printed number 20 to the left of this mark. An embossed mark reading MADE IN ENGLAND is also present in the clay.
