Lot 226: Early 20th Century Metal Document Safe with Brass 6 Lever Lock Plate
A vintage heavy-gauge metal document safe or strongbox, likely constructed from iron or steel and finished in a distressed dark grey paint. The construction features a thick, inset hinged door opening to reveal a single recessed interior compartment. The leading edge of the door is fitted with a rectangular brass lock plate, stamped with 6 LEVER above the central bolt. This indicates a high-security lock mechanism characteristic of British safe manufacture during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Additional markings are present below the bolt but are obscured by wear and patina, preventing specific maker identification. Height: [Measure] cm, Width: [Measure] cm, Depth: [Measure] cm.
