Lot 376: A Vintage Chil-Daw Pioneer Adjustable Dress Form Torso
This is an adjustable tailor’s dummy torso manufactured by the British company Chil-Daw. The form is the Pioneer model and features a split-body design to allow for size adjustments. It is constructed from a rigid inner shell covered in a natural-coloured linen or cotton canvas fabric. The internal adjustment mechanisms consist of metal threaded rods and knurled wheels accessible via the gaps in the shell. The side of the form bears several printed markings in black ink, including CHIL-DAW, PIONEER, and No. 344738. Further text specifies BRITISH MADE alongside the numbers 36 and 43. The neck is topped with a dark, circular cap, likely made of rubberised wood. This lot consists of the torso only; the stand is not present.
