The lot features a set of seven Reader’s Digest exploration books in uniform blue cloth bindings with gilt-lettered spines, including titles such as Jungles, Rivers and Mountain Peaks, The Frozen World, Charting the Vast Pacific, Secrets of the Sea, The Great Age of Exploration, Beyond the Horizon, and Bridging a Continent. Military and maritime history is represented by World War II published by St Michael, Plymouth Warships 1900-1950 by Goodman and Ballantyne, Sea Warfare by Spring Books, and Churchill: A Pictorial Biography. Reference and general interest materials include the AA Book of the Road in a black faux-leather binding, the AA Book of British Towns, You and Your Rights by Reader’s Digest, a Family Encyclopedia published by Geddes and Grosset, and a single red hardcover volume of the Encyclopaedia Britannica.
