Lot 424: A Vintage Bacon Four-String Tenor Banjo
A mid-20th-century four-string tenor banjo manufactured by Bacon. The instrument features a dark-stained wood neck and headstock, the latter bearing an inlaid script logo for Bacon. The dark hardwood fingerboard is set with circular dot position markers and nineteen frets. The pot assembly is fitted with a clear synthetic head and a wooden bridge with a dark top. The hardware includes a chrome-plated tailpiece and four side-mounted geared tuning pegs. A white inventory tag numbered 14888 is currently attached to the tailpiece. The instrument is accompanied by a fitted black hardshell case with a green felt-lined interior.
