Lot 433: An Assortment of Five Pieces of Late 19th and Early 20th Century English Stoneware including Doulton Lambeth
This lot comprises five pieces of domestic salt-glazed stoneware of English manufacture. The collection includes a large storage crock with twin lug handles and a fitted domed lid featuring a central knob. This vessel is finished in a traditional two-tone glaze, with a dark-brown slip applied to the upper portion and lid over a buff-coloured lower section. The group further contains two cylindrical pantry jars with matching dark-brown rims and buff bodies. Also included are two oval stoneware hot water bottles. One of these bottles is impressed on the shoulder with the arched mark Doulton Lambeth and is fitted with a ceramic screw-top stopper. The second hot water bottle features a black composite or rubber stopper.
