Lot 468: An Art Nouveau patinated spelter figural spill vase
An Art Nouveau patinated metal figural spill vase, likely cast from spelter with a bronze-effect finish. The piece depicts a semi-nude maiden in a graceful, twisting pose, holding aloft a large fluted shell-form vessel. The figure rises from a decorative base ornamented with relief-cast organic scrolls and floral motifs. The interior of the shell is finished with a darker tone, while the exterior highlights the bronze-coloured patina. No maker’s marks, signatures, or foundry stamps are visible. A white rectangular adhesive auction lot label is present on the base, bearing the printed text HCP Auctions South West, Lot 468.
