Lot 501: An Assortment of British and Commonwealth Military Field Equipment and Hardware
A collection of personal field equipment and military hardware primarily of British service pattern. The lot includes three aluminium mess tins of standard rectangular form. One nested set of two tins shows significant soot deposits and charring from field use and contains a folding brass-coloured metal pocket stove designed for solid fuel. A third mess tin contains a liquid-filled baseplate field compass with a red lanyard and a black plastic component. A large, heavy-weight military-issue wool blanket in olive green is included, featuring a characteristic napped texture. Webbing components consist of green canvas straps with metal attachment hooks. A section of Multi-Terrain Pattern fabric is also present. The lot is completed by a cardboard box containing a pair of green-painted, spring-loaded metal mounting clips in their original clear plastic packaging. One mess tin bears a lot tag numbered 501 and a handwritten slip with the number 9663 is included.
