Lot 589: Two glass decanters to include a cut lead crystal spirit decanter and an etched ships decanter
This lot comprises two glass decanters of varying styles and decorative techniques. The first is a cut lead crystal spirit decanter featuring a tapering, elongated body. It is decorated with a deep-cut pattern consisting of a central band of large diamonds with cross-hatched centres, surmounted by vertical fan and blaze cuts on the shoulder, and vertical flute cuts to the neck. The decanter is fitted with a corresponding multifaceted ball stopper. The second item is a ships decanter of traditional broad-based form designed for stability, tapering to a narrow neck with a spherical stopper. The body features an etched maritime design depicting a three-masted sailing ship under full sail upon stylized waves. There are no permanent maker marks or signatures visible on either item. Two paper auction labels are present.
