Lot 609: A Trio of Mid-20th Century Spun Glass Decorative Souvenirs
A trio of decorative miniatures crafted from clear and coloured glass using the spun glass or lampwork technique. The collection includes a horizontal stand featuring an openwork body of coiled and fused glass rods with vertical supports, decorated at one end with a hand-formed bird in translucent yellow, orange, and red glass. The second piece is a pedestal compote or centerpiece featuring a tightly spiralled clear glass stem and a flared bowl with an intricate, lace-like woven pattern. The third item is a miniature decorative basket with a woven-effect handle and body constructed from clear spun glass filaments. These items are characteristic of mid-century British or European novelty glass, commonly produced as seaside souvenirs.
