Lot 616: A Set of Cristallerie de Lorraine Grande Duk Pattern Cut Glass Claret Jug and Seven Wine Glasses
This set of lead crystal glassware is produced by Cristallerie de Lorraine in the Grande Duk pattern. The set consists of a handled claret jug with a faceted, diamond-shaped stopper and seven matching stemmed wine glasses. Each piece is manufactured from 24% lead crystal and features hand-cut decoration, referred to on the label as taille main. The decorative pattern incorporates a series of deep swirling mitre cuts, diamond-cut cross-hatching to the lower bowls, and fan-shaped motifs. The stems are faceted with an ornamental central knop, terminating in circular feet with radial starburst cutting to the underside. The base of the claret jug bears a gold foil manufacturer label stating Veritable Cristal 24% PbO Taille Main. The items are presented in a blue satin-lined storage box.
