Lot 628: A Comprehensive Collection of Denby Greenwheat Pattern Stoneware Tableware
An extensive collection of Denby stoneware table service in the iconic Greenwheat pattern, designed by Albert Colledge. Each piece is decorated with hand-painted stylised wheat stalks in shades of blue, green, and ochre on a speckled off-white ground, accented by a rich forest green glaze to the lids, interiors, and saucers. The group includes lidded vegetable tureens, a teapot, a large coffee or hot water pot, and a selection of jugs including a milk jug and a small cruet jug. The service further comprises several mugs, egg cups, a lidded butter dish, twin-handled soup bowls with matching saucers, and a salt and pepper set in a fitted stand. The collection is completed by a wide variety of dinner plates, side plates, tea plates, and rectangular serving dishes. Pieces are currently marked with white auction labels for Lot 628.
