Lot 771: A late Victorian quartersawn oak collectors cabinet with dentil moulded cornice
An antique oak specimen or collectors cabinet of late Victorian or Edwardian date. This single piece cabinet features a stepped cornice with dentil moulding over a single inset panel door. The interior arrangement includes three small drawers across the top and a larger drawer positioned to the lower right, leaving an open storage niche to the lower left. The drawers are fitted with decorative brass batwing style pull handles with central foliate motifs. The piece is constructed from quartersawn oak with a dark stained and polished finish showing prominent medullary rays. The door is secured by a lock and includes a single key. The right side of the cabinet bears an auction label for HCP Auctions South West, Lot 770, alongside a paper tag numbered 1080.
