Lot 781: An early 20th-century folding wooden clothes airer
A vintage folding wooden clothes airer or towel stand, likely dating from the early to mid-20th century. The piece is constructed from a stained softwood, possibly pine, and consists of two rectangular frames connected by metal butt hinges. Each frame is fitted with four horizontal cylindrical rungs tenoned into the upright rails. The unit is supported on simple trestle-style feet with a slight decorative curve. The construction is utilitarian, designed to fold flat for storage. There are no visible manufacturer marks or stamps. Two paper lot labels are present on the upper rail, one displaying the handwritten number 16 and another with the printed number 781.
