Lot 1000: A Collection of Mid-20th Century Asian Carved Hardwood Furniture and Sundry Items
A collection of Chinese export-style furniture crafted from dark-stained hardwood, including camphor wood and teak. The lot features a storage chest with deep relief carvings depicting traditional architectural scenes, pagodas, and sailing vessels, fitted with a circular brass lock plate and clasp. Also included is a nested set of three tables with inset glass tops protecting relief-carved panels of similar motifs. A small two-door cabinet with integrated drawers features recessed finger pulls and carved door panels depicting sailing ships. The furniture is of solid panel construction with mortise-and-tenon joints. The lot further comprises an upholstered oval-back armchair with a carved wooden frame and several metal-framed stools with circular wooden seats. A white rectangular auction label marked Lot 1000 is adhered to the front of the cabinet.
