Lot 1022: Liberty and Co Japanese Carved Hardwood Side Table
A Japanese carved hardwood side table, retailed by Liberty and Co, London. The octagonal top features deep relief hand-carving with a pattern of overlapping floral motifs, likely peonies or chrysanthemums. The table stands on four curved cabriole legs with carved knees, supporting a lower shelf with a matching floral carved design. The hardwood is finished with a dark stain that has worn away on higher surfaces to reveal lighter wood underneath. There are no maker’s marks present. An auction label from HCP Auctions is affixed to the top surface.
