Lot 1038: Art Deco Waterfall Style Walnut Veneered Tallboy Compactum
An Art Deco waterfall style walnut veneered tallboy compactum, manufactured circa 1930-1950. The piece features a figured walnut veneer exterior over a secondary timber carcase. The facade is divided into two vertical sections; the left-hand side consists of a full-height door featuring a large book-matched semi-circular sunburst veneer pattern. The right-hand side contains two short drawers positioned above a double-door cupboard. The unit is fitted with six original circular cast metal pull knobs with an embossed floral filigree design in a brass-tone finish. The drawers are constructed with dovetail joints and the unit sits on a plinth base.
