Lot 1059: A Trio of Vintage Pye and Philips Tabletop Radios
A collection of three vintage tabletop radios, comprising two wood-cased valve receivers and one plastic portable receiver. The first item is a Pye valve radio in a dark-stained wooden cabinet featuring a diamond-patterned fabric speaker grille. It is equipped with a magic eye tuning indicator in a circular housing at the top right and a horizontal linear tuning dial at the base with four control knobs. The Pye manufacturer mark is present on the grille cloth. The second item is a Pye two-tone tabletop radio with a dark wood cabinet and a green-painted front panel. It features a lattice-style speaker grille on the left and a vertical tuning dial with three control knobs on the right, bearing the Pye logo on the lower left. The third item is a Philips portable radio in a two-tone plastic case with a blue-grey body and a cream-coloured ribbed grille. The horizontal tuning dial at the top lists various European and UK stations and features the Philips logo of stars and wavy lines.
