Lot 147: Vintage Small Capacity Pressed Steel Fuel Can with Cam-Locking Lid
A vintage portable fuel or liquid container of pressed steel construction. The vessel features a single tubular top handle and a characteristic cross-brace embossed pattern on the side panels for structural reinforcement. It is equipped with a traditional cam-locking hinged spout lid assembly, typical of mid-20th-century industrial and automotive canisters. The exterior retains significant remnants of aged red paint. A square embossed area is present on the side panel, though no legible maker’s marks or branding are visible. A white adhesive auction label from HCP Auctions South West, identifying the item as Lot 147, is present on the lower front corner.
