Lot 243: A Pair of Large Polychrome Composite Novelty Garden Gnome Figures
A pair of large-scale novelty garden ornaments constructed from a moulded composite material, likely resin or glass fibre. The first figure depicts an adult male gnome with a prominent white beard, wearing a red hat and blue tunic, and carrying a smaller child gnome on his back in a blue carrier marked with the character D. The second figure is a robot gnome, featuring a gnome face set within a silver-painted box-shaped head. This figure includes accordion-style limbs, twin antennae with sphere terminals, and a chest panel detailed with simulated gauges, a semi-circular meter, and rivets. A paper label is adhered to the top of the robot gnome inscribed DAD + CHILD & ROBOTT GNOMES 3291 Res 15. An auction lot sticker numbered 243 is also present.
