Lot 446: A forty-eight piece Chinese Famille Rose porcelain Mun Shou pattern dinner service
A comprehensive forty-eight piece Chinese Famille Rose porcelain dinner service in the popular Mun Shou pattern, also known as the Longevity pattern. The service is decorated with a vibrant ruby red ground and features four circular medallions, each containing one of the characters for Wan Shou Wu Jiang, which translates to ten thousand years of longevity without end. The surrounding ground is intricately decorated with scrolling lotus vines, floral motifs, and bats in polychrome enamels. Most pieces are finished with a yellow-ground border featuring blue Greek key and ruyi head patterns.
