Lot 56: A Trio of John Rabone and Sons Ltd Hardwood Spirit Levels
A trio of professional-grade antique hardwood spirit levels manufactured by John Rabone and Sons Ltd of Birmingham, England. The collection includes examples stamped with model numbers No 80 and No 81. Each level is constructed from a dense rectangular hardwood with inset circular spirit vial apertures. The metal faceplates are finished in a silver-tone plating, likely nickel over brass or steel. Stamped inscriptions on the metalwork include Made in England, John Rabone and Sons Ltd, and Birmingham, alongside instructional text reading Remove This Plate To Adjust Level. The levels feature multiple glass vials for both horizontal and vertical alignment.
