A mid-20th century gentleman’s dove grey fur felt top hat by Moss Bros of Covent Garden. This formal morning dress accessory is constructed from stiffened grey fur felt with a contrasting wide black textile hatband and a grey grosgrain ribbon bound brim. The interior is lined with cream silk or satin fabric and features a decorative white ribbon bow at the rear of the inner sweatband. The interior crown is printed with the Moss Bros retailer mark in reddish-brown ink, featuring a gentleman in formal attire within a decorative cartouche and the text Moss Bros of Covent Garden, The Complete Man’s Store. The hat is accompanied by a white fabric drawstring storage bag and a square cardboard storage box.
