Lot 585: An Assortment of Novelty Ceramic Teapots and a Framed Decorative Ceramic Plaque
This lot comprises two hand-painted relief-moulded earthenware novelty teapots from The Village Teapot Collectables series by Western House Gifts, designed by Annie Rowe. The first teapot, titled The Florist, depicts a two-storey shop with a blue awning and floral displays. The second, titled Antiques, features a corner shop with a Bric-a-brac sign, window displays of books and lamps, and climbing ivy. Both teapots bear printed marks on the base with their respective titles and designer attribution. Included is a Leonardo novelty farmhouse-shaped teapot featuring a relief-moulded farmer, sheep, and cow. The base has an illegible impressed mark, a Leonardo quality sticker, and a manufacturer label stating the item is for decorative purposes only and not to be used as a teapot. The collection is completed by a rectangular glazed ceramic plaque depicting a woman in traditional Chinese blue and white dress holding a bird. The plaque features black ink characters and a red seal to the upper left, with a further red seal to the lower right. It is mounted in a dark reddish-brown wooden frame with a decorative metal hanger.
Plaque frame: 25cm x 15cm.
